An altar server is a lay person, typically a young member of the church, who assists the clergy during religious services. Their duties may include carrying the cross, lighting candles, assisting with the preparation of the altar, and helping the priest during the celebration of the Eucharist. Altar servers play an important role in the smooth running of the church service and are often seen as role models for other young members of the congregation. **

Female altar servers are girls or women who assist the priest during Mass and other liturgical ceremonies in the Catholic Church. They may help with tasks such as carrying the processional cross, holding the book for the priest, and assisting with the preparation of the altar. The role of female altar servers has become more common in the Church since the 1980s, when the Vatican officially allowed girls to serve at the altar. This change has been seen as a way to promote greater participation of women in the liturgical life of the Church. **

On the altar, there are typically religious symbols or objects that hold significance to the specific faith or tradition. This can include candles, incense, religious texts, statues or images of deities, and offerings such as food or flowers. The items on the altar are often used in rituals or ceremonies to honor and connect with the divine. The altar serves as a focal point for worship and spiritual practice. **

Drums are a specific type of percussion instrument that typically have a hollow body and a membrane that is struck to produce sound. Percussion, on the other hand, is a broader category that includes a wide range of instruments that are struck, shaken, or scraped to produce sound. While drums are a subset of percussion instruments, percussion encompasses a variety of instruments such as cymbals, tambourines, maracas, and xylophones. **

Scouts may not necessarily dislike altar servers, but there may be a perception that being an altar server conflicts with the time commitment and responsibilities of being a scout. Altar serving often involves regular commitments to serve at religious ceremonies, which may conflict with scout meetings, events, or camping trips. Additionally, some scouts may feel that altar serving is not aligned with the values and activities of scouting, leading to a lack of interest in altar serving among scouts. **

You can create an altar whenever you feel called to do so. Altars can be created for various reasons such as to honor a deity, to set intentions, for meditation and reflection, or to connect with your spiritual practice. Trust your intuition and create an altar when you feel the need for a sacred space in your home or when you want to deepen your spiritual connection. There is no right or wrong time to create an altar, it is a personal decision based on your own spiritual journey. **

Altar servers are typically children or young adults, ranging in age from around 7 to 18 years old. Many churches and religious traditions encourage young people to become altar servers as a way to become more involved in the church community and to learn about the rituals and traditions of the faith. Some churches may also have adult altar servers, but it is more common for younger individuals to take on this role. **

I am an altar server because I feel called to serve and assist in the celebration of the Mass. It is a way for me to actively participate in the liturgy and contribute to the worship of the Church. I find great joy in being able to support the priest and help create a reverent and prayerful atmosphere during the Mass. Serving at the altar allows me to deepen my faith and grow in my understanding of the sacred rituals and traditions of the Catholic Church. **
